You've probably heard of LiDAR (which uses lasers), but its sibling technology, photogrammetry, is just as powerful.
In simple terms, photogrammetry is the science of creating 3D models from 2D photographs.
Here’s how it works: We fly a drone in a precise, overlapping grid pattern, taking hundreds or even thousands of high-resolution photos from different angles. Specialized software then analyzes these photos, identifies common points, and "stitches" them together into a hyper-realistic, measurable 3D model (or a 2D "orthomosaic" map).
We use this for:
- Creating 3D models of homes for real estate.
- Mapping construction sites for progress tracking.
- Documenting accident or insurance claim scenes with high precision. It’s a revolutionary way to measure and visualize the real world.
